Servo Amplifier SD3 Allows Speedy Implementation of Nut Setting Applications
Press releasesSIEB & MEYER offers extended development platform
With SD3, SIEB & MEYER offers a solution for complex drive tasks such as servo-driven tightening. For this application, the company now provides its engineering software with additional functions that allow realizing EC tightening controls even more quickly.
SIEB & MEYER has extended the existing function library of the SD3 SDK (software development kit) with basic functions for complex nut setting cycles. In addition, templates for an easy creation of user interfaces especially designed for tightening applications is available cross-platform for Windows, Raspberry Pi and DisplayLink USB2 display devices. "This means that we now offer tightening system manufacturers a complete development platform, consisting of the drive and control electronics, the relevant tool interfaces and the matching system software", explained Torsten Blankenburg, CTO at SIEB & MEYER AG.
SD3 by SIEB & MEYER is an intelligent servo amplifier in different performance ranges up to 55 kVA that allows flexible customization. The solution does not only convince by its open system architecture but also by an integrated Web server and freely programmable control functions. By means of the provided function libraries, users can realize the functions required for their core competences independently, thus protecting their know-how very effectively. For the SD3 servo drive, option modules for a ProfiNet and an EtherCAT master interface as well as for the CANopen, EtherCAT (CoE), Modbus and EtherNet/IP fieldbus interfaces are available, opening up a wide range of application options.
