New production hall for a higher production capacity
In 2020, SIEB & MEYER AG achieved record results, especially in the business unit CNC controls. After the first four months of the current business year, it is apparent that the positive trend is continuing and even increasing. This development is still driven by the high investment volume in the PCB and semiconductor industries.
"We concluded the business year 2020 with record sales of € 57 million and expected to achieve a similarly good level in 2021," Markus Meyer, CEO at SIEB & MEYER AG, explained. "By now, however, the chances are good that the current business year will be even better." The positive business development is paired with an increase in the number of employees by more than 20 % compared to 2019.
The CNC control versions CNC 8x.00 and CNC 9x.00 by SIEB & MEYER enable manufacturers to build PCB drilling and routing machines of the highest quality. These machines in turn produce high-quality PCBs required for the rollout of 5G mobile networks, which is being advanced worldwide despite the COVID-19 crisis. "This explains the ongoing demand in the CNC control unit," said Markus Meyer. "We also enjoy a very good order situation in the unit drive technology, though." Most notably, the three-level frequency converter SD2M conquers new markets. For this innovative solution SIEB & MEYER has literally made more room on the premises in Lueneburg: At the end of May 2021, a new production/storage hall with about 450 sqm floor space is ready for occupancy, which makes an increased production capacity of the product line SD2M possible. At the same time, the structural expansion creates much needed free space for the production of the CNC controls for PCB production.
