More Variants, More Applications
Press releasesDrive controller SD4B
Small, compact and yet versatile and powerful: drive controllers of the SD4B series by SIEB & MEYER score as high-dynamic servo drives for the operation of rotary and linear low-voltage servo motors. Furthermore, they can be used to optimize the operation of high-speed low-voltage synchronous and asynchronous motors. In addition to the standard variant, the German high-speed experts based in Lueneburg now offer a high-current variant of the device.
The series SD4B by SIEB & MEYER stands for various functions in a compact size, which is integrated in a space-saving IP20 housing. In addition to the standard version with 10 A @ 80 VDC, a high-current version with 13 A @ 48 VDC is now also available. Despite the increase in rated current from 10 A to 13 A, the new version has retained its small size and, above all, its narrow width of 25 mm.
Standard safety functions and a wide range of interfaces
All models are equipped with the safety function Safe Torque Off (STO) as well as interfaces for CANopen and Modbus TCP. An optional multiprotocol real-time Ethernet interface is available for flexible communication between the higher-ranking control via EtherCAT (CoE), PROFINET IO or POWERLINK. To further simplify system integration, SD4B provides a TTL encoder input and output as well as five digital inputs and outputs. Via an Ethernet interface, users can conveniently parameterize the device.
Angle-synchronous operation of several high-speed motors
In the high-speed range, SD4B as frequency converter allows sensorless operation of synchronous motors up to 240,000 rpm and asynchronous motors up to 360,000 rpm. In addition, a sensor-based control with TTL encoders is available. This way, the device can operate, for example, several high-speed motors with angular synchronism via master/slave connection, which is useful in the field of optical system applications, among others. The robust speed control can also cope with high mass inertia ratios of up to 1:100 between motor and tool.
Thanks to their NRTL/CSA certification, users can integrate the devices of series SD4B into systems for the US market without additional approvals. All this makes SD4B a future-proof solution for global applications.
